APRS in the future

I’ve been studying the functions and usage of APRS for a long time. Always found it quite interesting. So now’s the time to actually do something about it and try i out for myself.

I got a Yaesu FT-2D that are capable of sending and receiving beacons. So that way I can listen in on the traffic as well as using the aprs.fi map to spot users and other APRS devices. My intention is though to host my own digipeater/iGate so I stumbled upon the WX3in1 Plus 2.0 advanced box.

This little fellow is a combined digipeater and iGate with more options and advanced setup functions. One programmed (via easy USB connection) it can be accessed via web interface. Only needs 12V power, ethernet and cable to the transceiver.
